About Harlem Hopes
Our Mission
Harlem Hopes is dedicated to advancing education, equity, and economic empowerment in Harlem and beyond. Through our scholarship initiatives, HBCU partnerships, and the Clayton & Co. Merchant Program, we connect resources to opportunity—bridging institutions, businesses, and individuals to create lasting community impact.
Harlem Hopes is a 501c3 with national recognition established by Harlem Hops’ partners to provide scholarships to offset the cost of college education to native Harlem residents. Our goal is to close opportunity gaps that disproportionately affect students of color and students from low-income families wanting to continue their dream of obtaining a college degree. Students receiving a scholarship from Harlem Hopes must be a graduating senior, have a cumulative unweighted 2.7 GPA and planning to attend a Historical Black College or University (HBCU).
